Zagreb 2011 - Programme

A two-tier social security?

Organization of caring and health care in Europe

27th and 28th of January 2011 - Zagreb, Hotel Dubrovnik, Ljudevita Gaja 1

Organised by EUROMF vzw

Supported financially by the European Union

Social security is built by a solidarity mechanism for employees, employers and government. The liberalization of health-care has created an imbalance between government initiatives, commercial initiatives and non-profit initiatives. Moreover, the current economic crisis causes policy measures that make shrink social protection in most European countries.

Is there room for solidarity in this context? What does socially responsible care implies for us? These are the substantive questions for the seminar.

But we also seek to broaden knowledge and share experiences from our own practice: projects of civil society on health care and caring in Croatia, Lithuania, Finland, Poland, Romania and Belgium are found in this seminar.
